Inclusion and Otherworld: upcoming townhall

Inclusion and Otherworld: upcoming townhall

The burner community has been a welcoming community to many for years. It allows people to radically express themselves and feel accepted away from the eyes and judgements of the default world.

Formed by Kindle Arts in 2023, the Inclusion Group includes individuals from a variety of backgrounds, including Indigenous, Hispanic, queer and other marginalized groups.

Supporting each other in radical self-expression and welcome embrace is an important value in our community. Acculturation is about support, compassion, and respect for ourselves, the land we are on, and each other.

The principles and values are in place to make sure we keep each other safe and to make it clear Otherworld is not your typical arts, music or cultural event

The Inclusion Group’s approach has been one of understanding, compassion and warmth. Our voices are not isolated; they exist and are strong. We are here and there are many of us.

Open and compassionate dialogue is always welcome.

We’re looking forward to having a deeper dive and open discussion on inclusion and what it means for our local Burner community at a special Town Hall (date TBC, so please watch for announcements).
