Governance, Transparency, and Community Well-Being

Governance, Transparency, and Community Well-Being

Over the past several months, the Kindle Arts Society Board of Directors has been working diligently to strengthen our governance practices, modernize internal systems, and ensure that our community continues to thrive in an environment built on respect, accountability, and consent.

As part of this ongoing work, the Board has received and reviewed correspondence from members and community participants regarding transparency, governance, and operational processes. These conversations reflect a community that is passionate, engaged, and deeply invested in the future of both Kindle Arts and Otherworld.

We want to acknowledge and thank everyone who has taken the time to share their thoughts, feedback, and concerns. Open communication is vital to the health of our community, and we are committed to responding to questions with clarity and care.

To that end, the Board has issued a formal letter of response addressing the concerns raised by Jared Warren. This letter outlines:

  • The ongoing implementation of the Governance Modernization Initiative (GMI)
  • The Society’s approach to information access and privacy
  • Our commitment to professional third-party consultation
  • And our continued focus on constructive, forward-looking collaboration

This letter represents the official position of the Kindle Arts Society.

As stated in the letter, future updates and reports will continue to be shared publicly with the membership as part of the Society’s modernization plan. Expect to see details about financial transparency, HR processes, and improved communication systems to support both our volunteers and the broader community.

Our focus remains on building a healthy, sustainable organization that supports creative expression, volunteer well-being, and responsible governance. We ask for patience and mutual respect as we continue this important work together.

If you’ve volunteered with Otherworld or any Kindle Arts project this year, you likely already qualify to be a member of the Society. Becoming a member is the best way to help shape the future of our community and stay informed about important updates.
